After being crowned Miss Tanzania in 2016, Diana embarked on various projects she is actively engaged in, which she shared about."

My first project is the Dondosha Wembe, which is under the Cut Alert Foundation where I fight against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) as well marriage as early as gender discrimination in remote places in Tanzania. The aim is to educate the society of the effects of the three vices. We call it Cut Alert because we mostly fight against FGM though we also touch on the other two.
I've worked on this for the last five years and as we embrace technology, FGM is decreasing day by day because of the awareness created by social media. A lot of people are becoming aware of the effects of FGM as there is the use of phones that is increasing in the remote places. So far so good and I have worked with European Union and UNFPA in Tanzania. I've worked as their social media activist and we visited remote places where we were meeting elders and having discussions with them.
Their main reason as to why they still carry out the cut, they say is due historical backgrounds, cultural backgrounds and some sort of oath. We continue to advocate against the cut though we know the issue won't end today or tomorrow. In our quest to end FGM, we also talk to the women who perform the rite. We seek to empower them since they say they do it because they do not have another means of making a livelihood. We were engaging them in different entrepreneurship activities so they can focus more on business and abandon the cut.
My second project is dubbed, Tour Tanzania and Africa Mashariki Festival, which promote tourism. We would meet with other former beauty queens from the East African countries; Miss Tanzania, Miss Burundi, Miss Rwanda, Miss Kenya and Miss Uganda. Our aim was to discuss about our tourism in each country, about the peace, unity and love that we have as East African countries.

Also, under Tour Tanzania, we were bringing cyclists from different parts of Africa together for competition to promote the peace and unity among us. The aim was not just to watch the cyclists compete but to enhance peace. We also took them to tour Zanzibar and cooperated with their government with a similar goal of promoting peace among African countries.
My other project is the Makini Road Safety where we work in promoting awareness about the issues of enhancing road safety to both the drivers and other road users. We created animated videos that were used in schools to direct students on the proper way of crossing roads. We opted for the use of animated videos because it is visual and it sticks more in the learners minds and it is easy for them to remember after they watch.
We also work with government officials and road safety personnel in ensuring we observe a road safety week whereby we visit bus stations and talk to the passengers about the importance of using safety belts and the importance of reporting drivers who over-speed, via an App, Makini Applications, that we created to keep tabs on rogue drivers."
Diana is happy to use her crown to make the lives of her people easier and is excited at the prospect of partnering with MTG to enhance the lives of the youth both locally and globally.
