This year's April Fool's Day marked a new beginning for Diana Edward Lukumai, former Miss Tanzania 2016, who was crowned as the new Miss Talent Global. The newly launched organisation, whose tagline is: 'Empowering the Youth. Promoting Talent', will empower the youth by nurturing their talents. It will focus on various fields that interest the youth including; beauty, fashion, sports, arts and music, science, engineering, medicine, education, media and journalism among others. Miss Talent Global was launched in Nairobi, Kenya but is strategising on spreading its wings to other countries abroad as it aims to host beauty and talent events globally.
It was also a day that will forever be etched in the memory of Dr Fred Koske, who finally got the opportunity to leave the country for specialised treatment in Mumbai, India. Dr Koske suffered a spinal injury in late 2020 that left him paralysed from the neck down. But thanks to family, friends, well-wishers and the efforts by Viva Serenity, a company affiliated to Miss Talent Global, that helped raise funds for his treatment, Dr Koske finally travelled to India on the night of 1st April 2022.
Before he left for India accompanied by Diana the new Miss Talent Global (MTG), Dr Koske was treated to a sumptuous luncheon that also doubled as the unveiling of the crown holder of MTG. The colourful event that was held in Ridgeways, Nairobi was organised by Dr Theophilus Wangata who is the brains behind MTG, Viva Serenity and Precise Healthcare.

The event was graced by both reigning and former beauty queens who included the reigning Miss University Kenya 2021, Linet Kinya, Former Miss Universe, Mary Esther Were, Fashion and Commercial Model, Faith Njuguna (Favoured), Former Miss World Narok County, Sheila Nabaya and the reigning Mr University Kenya, Nick Ogada among other invited guests. In attendance also were staff from Viva Serenity, Housepital and Precise Healthcare among other well-wishers.
The guests were treated to an array of entertainment from the talented kids in Viva FC, which brings together children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Under the guidance of their coach, George, the children showcased their talents in various sporting activities like swimming, dancing and juggling the ball. They also entertained the crowd through poetry and bible narrations. They also enjoyed music from the MTG Band, which was led by Papa Utukufu.
The highlight of the day was the crowning moment for Miss Talent Global. After the event, Dr. Koske's entourage headed straight for the airport in an ambulance and was escorted by the beauty queens including Miss Talent Global, Diana, who travelled with him to India to assist the patient with logistics. The beauty queen is scheduled to meet fellow beauty queens in India and will tour various touristic sites to encourage the growth of medical tourism.
Dr Koske left Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) accompanied by nurse, Lydia Biwott and Miss Talent Global at 8.50 pm, bound for Mumbai, India. They arrived safely on Saturday morning, the 2nd April, 2022 and Dr Koske was received by the team from Neurogen Brain and Spine Institute Mumbai and a local Viva Serenity Representative and went directly to the hospital. The treatment will cost Ksh 4.5million and we are currently at 2.44million. To help us bridge the gap, kindly contribute towards Dr. Fred Koske Fundraiser via Paybill: 4083431, Account: Your name
